Web Programming
Using a light weight php framework
3 tiered approach:–
– Entity Relationship Modelling in XML then modelling software to generate SQL
–Writing the application layer in PHP using the framework that includes a config file that handles the errors and holds global constants
–Visible layer/front layer using XHTML strict, CSS, Javascript,Jquery and Ajax for the Search box.
The University version includes PHPS files that show that PHP source files in the footer. Interesting for programmers who can see how the pages were constructed.

The owners had done their own website in iWeb which very image heavy, and no text so very slow to load and not friendly to search engines.
I re–programmed their pages and then added some extra features to the most visited pages.

AllJoinOn is a Social Networking site. I was asked to update the logged in part of the front page. But before I could do that I corrected the code so that it validated

Job: Re–write the code for SEO.
I was asked to re–write some of the XHTML so that it can be read by search engines. This meant replacing the text that was previously displayed as images to searhable text. A relatively simple task that means that page now is much better optimised.

Julie's Ironing is a commercial entry level basic website. It is compliant with W3C web standards and easily found using Google.
